My daughter just bought a car this weekend. She only has a learner's permit. The car was registered in her name only. Will she be able to get insurance with just a permit, or can we put her on our policy without her car being in our name?

Dear Barb,
Melissa Fox, a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance, says that a person with a learner's permit can buy auto insurance. However, some insurance companies will only sell to those who have a driver's license.
