Due to bad weather, a tree by the parking lot of my apartment fell on my car, crushing it and causing extensive damage. I don't have comprehensive insurance on my car. What are the chances of getting compensated by the landlord's insurance company?

Unfortunately, unless you can prove the tree's falling was due to the landlord's neglect (say the tree was dead and should have been removed as a hazard before it fell) then it will be next to impossible to get his insurance to cover the damage to your car. This would be the time to have comprehensive coverage on your auto insurance policy. For more on damage caused by fallen trees, see Homeowners policies cover damage from trees downed by snow and ice.
