I visited a doctor for a routine check-up. I was thinking that I already have health insurance coverage because I received a welcome packet from my insurance. A week later I got a letter that said that my claim was denied because I didn't have coverage on the date of service. I realized that my coverage actually didn't start until four days after I saw the doctor. Now I am worried if my insurance will cancel my policy based on myself seeing the doctor without coverage. Is this possible?
No, the health insurer doesn't care that you saw the doctor.
Your only problem is that you have to pay that last bill yourself.
