What are the chances of you dying this year?

The Society of Actuaries (SOA) has created a table showing your chances of dying. They didn't do this for the fun of it, however. The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) asked for the table so it could give states a guideline in setting "reserve levels" for insurance company annuity contracts.

[Let Insure.com help you find affordable life insurance now.]

States set reserve levels to ensure that life insurance companies will have enough money on hand to pay claims. Setting reserve levels too low can mean that a company can't pay its claims and may become insolvent. Setting reserve levels too high can mean that policyholders pay premiums that are higher than necessary.

The table below is the source for the Annuity 2000 Mortality Life Expectancy Table and shows your chances, on the average, of dying at a given age. It is broken down by gender because of the large gap between how long men and women typically live.
