In 1925, General Casualty was founded as a fire and auto insurer in
Madison, Wisconsin. Today, the company has expanded into 25
neighboring states and offers property and casualty insurance products
for homes, autos and business. Working through 1,300 independent
agencies, General Casualty is known for their emphasis to financial
strength, quality products, superiors claims service and strong agency
partnerships.
In 2007, General Casualty was purchased by QBE Insurance Group and is
now a subsidiary to QBE the Americas and QBE Regional. With this
new expansion, QBE Regional reported $1.4 billion in gross written
premiums in 2008.
