The North Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company was incorporated September 13, 1953 under the laws of North Carolina, and first conducted business on October 2 of that year. With its home office in Raleigh, the company has become the largest domestic property and casualty insurer in the state. As a mutual insurance company, they are owned and controlled by their policyholders through an elected board of directors.
