GEICO has launched a Facebook application that lets policyholders access to their insurance information through the social networking site.
The "GEICO Shortcuts" app lets users pay their bills, retrieve identification cards to save or print, and view special discount offers through the company's Privileges program.
"Facebook's dramatic growth has significantly changed the way people consume information," Steve Smith, GEICO assistant vice president for information technology, said in a media statement. "We've created an app that makes it easier for customers to get access to GEICO within the Facebook environment."
The insurance company has released several mobile apps this year. Others include the GEICO Guinea Pig Getaway, the GEICO BroStache and the Caveman Photo Crasher apps.
