Humana Inc. recently received two Stevie Awards for its mobile application.
The Louisville, Ky.-based company, which offers a range of insurance products and wellness services, won a Stevie People's Choice Award for best new smart phone or tablet app and a subcategory award for best new product or service for its MyHumana application.
The app lets members search for health care providers and access information about drug pricing, spending-account balances identification card details and more.
The Stevie Awards were created to recognize outstanding performance in the workplace worldwide.
"This recognition illustrates the value of mobile apps in health and energizes our peopleto continue to drive innovation in the mobile space," Brian LeClaire, Humana's senior vice president and chief service and information officer, said in a statement.
Earlier this year, Humana's mobile application won an Appy award, presented by MediaPost at the Online Media, Marketing and Advertising Global Conference and Expo.
The MyHumana app has more than 25,000 iPhone and almost 11,000 Android downloads as of July of this year.
