New worksite health stations let employees connect virtually with doctors
By Insure.com staff

Aetna has introduced new computerized worksite health stations that let employees check their blood pressure, look up health and wellness information, and consult doctors through video or voice connections.

The freestanding health stations from Computerized Screening are a high-tech twist on the traditional worksite clinic.

Aetna is making the stations available for lease to self-insured employers.

Employees can use the stations to get help with minor health concerns, such as allergies, asthma, cold and flu symptoms, pink eye, rashes, and sinus infections.

The cost of a video consultation through the health station is $35 or less, depending on the member's Aetna health insurance benefit plan. Co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance apply. The consultations are a qualified expense for flexible spending accounts, health reimbursement arrangements or health savings accounts.
