By Insure.com staff

Washington, D.C., tops other tourist destinations for crash risk and traffic congestion, and Chicago wins the dubious honor of having the highest gas prices, according to new rankings from Erie Insurance.

The company released the data to encourage road trippers to prepare for the driving conditions they might face.

  • Washington, D.C.
  • Virginia Beach
  • Philadelphia
  • Chicago
  • San Antonio

The company relied on the Texas A&M Transportation Institute's Annual Urban Mobility Report to analyze metro areas for traffic congestion.
