Aegon Health Insurance
Founded in 1983, AEGON is the product of a merger between two Dutch insurers, AGO and Ennia. But the company can trace its roots to the middle of the 19th Century when its predecessors provided burial funds to customers in the Netherlands.
Today, AEGON is an international business, providing life insurance, pensions and other long-term products and investments to millions of customers around the world. AEGON is listed on the stock exchanges of Amsterdam, London, New York and Tokyo.
AEGON is one of the world’s largest life insurance and pension groups and sells investment products. In 2008, AEGON companies employed about 35,500 people worldwide. Its headquarters are in The Hague, Netherlands.
AEGON is active in accident and supplemental health insurance, general insurance and has limited banking activities. It has major operations in the United States, Netherlands and the United Kingdom. In addition, the group is present in a number of other countries including Canada, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, China, Taiwan and India.
AEGON Health Insurance Says
Aegon's health insurance products include coverage for disability, long-term nursing or custodial care needs. They may be purchased on a group basis (by a firm to cover its employees) or by individuals. In each case, the covered groups or individuals pay premiums or taxes to help protect themselves from high or unexpected healthcare expenses. Similar benefits paying for medical expenses may also be provided through social welfare programs funded by the government.
