Bundling with Allstate vs. buying from two different companies

You don’t always save money by bundling with Allstate – the first table shows that buying a home insurance policy with Allstate and an auto policy with another carrier actually costs less in most cases. The only outlier was combining Allstate home and Progressive auto – in this case, it was cheaper to bundle both together at Allstate.

As shown in the second table, the opposite was true with stand-alone policies of auto insurance through Allstate and home insurance through another carrier. In all cases, you save a significant amount of money by bundling with Allstate.

Methodology

Insure.com commissioned home and auto insurance rates for major carriers from Quadrant Data Services in late 2023. Home insurance rates are based on $300,000 in dwelling and liability coverage and a $1,000 deductible. Auto insurance rates are based on a full coverage policy with 100/300/100 liability limits and $500 deductibles, using the sample profile of a 40-year-old male driving a 2023 Honda Accord LX with a clean driving record and good credit. Quadrant also provided average bundling discounts.
