About Nationwide Life Insurance

Since the early days as an Ohio based mutual auto insurer in 1925, Nationwide Insurance has expanded to become one of the largest insurance companies in the world.  Today, Nationwide has grown to include financial services such as Nationwide Bank.

Nationwide provides four basic types of life insurance: term life, whole life, universal life and variable universal life. Term life insurance is a policy that is temporary and lasts for a period of time such as 10, 15, 20 or 30 years. Whole life insurance is a permanent life insurance policy that offers long-term protection, has fixed premiums and builds cash value. Universal life insurance is permanent with flexible premiums and lets the insured accumulate cash value and take out tax-free loans. Variable universal life insurance has death benefit protection with investment features that can help the insured invest for retirement.
