About Globe Life

Since 1951, Globe Life has grown in financial strength and reputation. The company provides life and health insurance coverage to over 3.6 million policyholders. Globe Life is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Torchmark Corporation.

Torchmark Corporation, based in McKinney, Texas, is an S&P 500 holding company that specializes in life insurance, supplemental health insurance and financial services. The company was founded in Birmingham, Alabama, where it was headquartered until 2006 and where it still maintains its largest operations. Its core company, Liberty National, was formed in 1900, and after an acquisition, it formed Torchmark as a holding company in the late 1970s.

Globe Life Health Insurance Says

Global Life’s health insurance pays for medical expenses. It is sometimes used more broadly to include insurance coverage for disability, long-term nursing or custodial care needs. It may be attained through a government-sponsored social insurance program or from private insurance companies. It may be purchased on a group basis or by individual consumers. In each case, the covered groups or individuals pay premiums or taxes to help protect themselves from high or unexpected health care expenses.
